General terms and conditions:
A lesson usually takes about 3 hours, but can be extended by arrangement.
You can book lessons just for yourself or for groups of up to 3 people. If you wish, we can try to pair yours with other people's registrations for shared lessons (at a lower price per person).
We will agree on times – partly depending on when you can, partly depending on the weather.
The lessons are based on you gradually taking responsibility for all aspects of sailing. You may be a beginner who has never sailed, have sailed a little as a youth, or you may have taken a course at a sailing school but don't feel quite ready yet to set out on your own.
We will initially use a C55. This is a boat with a lowered keel that is sailed much like a dinghy – but which cannot capsize. The Swedish Sailing Association recommends the C55 for adult sailing training. When you can sail the C55, we can move on to a slightly larger boat, an Albin Viggen (keelboat). If you are very sporty, we can also agree on lessons in Laser sailing (one-man dinghy).
The most important thing for me is that everyone on board feels safe and has fun. Then of course you will learn to sail. My lessons include theory lessons, and I recommend self-study with the book “Segla keelbåt” which can be purchased through the Swedish Sailing Association. Life jackets are available to borrow – but if you have your own that you are comfortable in, it is best to use it.
Refers to the risk analysis and safety rules.
The lesson begins at the meeting in the harbor. Then we prepare the boat and then we sail out. When the boat is back and moored in the harbor and ready to be left (alternatively deployed on land), the lesson ends. You need to be active in all steps - only then will you learn to go out on your own with a sailboat in safe conditions.
Remember not to have a time to fit in right after your planned sailing – the wind may calm down – you need to have a margin.
Prices:
300 SEK per hour, up to three students.
You can submit your expression of interest and your contact details here on the website:
Also provide suggestions for days and times when you can have lessons. I will then contact you and we will agree on future lessons and arrangements. Lessons may be cancelled due to bad weather conditions, illness or other unforeseen circumstances. You pay after the lesson has been completed by depositing into a bank account.
